The world is going loop the loop for Irish textile designer Claire Anne O’Brien. She has been selected by the Crafts Council Hothouse for 2013 programme for emerging makers. The Crafts Council’s Hothouse programme selects the brightest new craft talent from across the UK providing them with a tailor-made six-month programme of creative and business support.
Originally from Co.Cork, Ireland, Claire Anne O’Brien is a textile designer based in East London. After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2006 with a BA in Textiles, Claire Anne went on to gain an MA in Knitted Textiles at the Royal College of Art in 2010. In 2011 she received the Future Makers Award from the Crafts Council of Ireland.
This is contemporary craftsmanship at its finest. The effect of these unobtrusive and subtle designs results in individual and deeply textured yet playful characters. I want one!
