good news alert; Etsy’s coming to Ireland

As you probably know by now Style It Like You Stole It are big fans of Etsy. This concept, for person to person selling, has grown from strength to strength since it was launched as an on-line business by founder Robert Kalin in 2005.

“Etsy celebrates individual creativity in design and craftsmanship and connects unique people, stories, and products in a playful and meaningful way. We serve 17 million members in over 150 countries.” Wowzers!

Etsy is a US based on-line global marketplace you can join as a buyer or a seller, or both. Trading in vintage items, hand-made goods and supplies; This translates to an Aladdin’s Cave overflowing with amazing finds by some very creative designers, buyers and up-cyclers, to name but a few. Perhaps, because of this style of selling and of course the items for sale; you always tend to feel good, instead of guilty, after a purchase on Etsy. Our credit cards know this from experience.

Well, to build on and hopefully spread this good cheer, Etsy plan to make Dublin the headquarters for all their European operations, which currently includes offices in the UK, France, the Netherlands and Germany. Boo-ya!

The Dublin office is latest part of their expansion into Europe and their new base will be housed in The Digital Hub, just next to the Guinness Storehouse in the heart of Dublin 8.

We wish everyone at Etsy Ireland the very best of luck. We know it will be a roaring success.
